Me?  Okay, you asked!

I'm a Borders Books bestseller and one of Silhouette's Australian Desire authors, writing category romance for the world's biggest romance publisher in the world, Harlequin Enterprises.

In my former (non-writing) life, I've worked in such diverse jobs as assistant/secretary/PA, office manager, software trainer and aerobics instructor.  I'm also a volunteer with Romance Writers of Australia (including holding the positions of Secretary, Vice-President and Contest Co-ordinator, plus six years as editor for Hearts Talk, their monthly publication).

I've been writing ever since the age of eleven after getting hooked on the glorious historical romances of Johanna Lindsey, Kathleen Woodiwiss and Shirlee Busbee.   Yes, my early influences were historical but I read and enjoy a wide scope of fiction, including paranormal, fantasy, chick lit, crime and, of course, romance!

My writing has won and placed in various contests, including Wisconsin Romance Writers Fabulous Five Silver Quill, Magnolia State Dixie First Chapter, Romance Writers of Australia's Emerald Award and the Valerie Parv Award.  As a published author my second book, Boardrooms & A Billionaire Heir, was a finalist in RWA's 2009 RBY Award, Australia's only contest for romantic fiction judged by readers.  My third book, The Magnate's Baby Promise, was voted Australian Romance Readers Association's Best Category Romance of 2009 and my fourth, The Billionaire Baby Bombshell, Best Category Romance of 2010.

British-born and Aussie bred, I currently live west of Sydney with my family, two cats and an assortment of native birds.

MORE ABOUT ME

Favorite time waster: since I gave up TV last year, I'd have to say the internet - Facebook, Twitter, blogs... not to mention all those fabulous research sites!
When I was young I wanted to be: a vet... or a dancer (a la Flashdance).
Best movie ever: Titanic. Chronicles of Narnia. The Great Escape. The Wedding Singer. National Treasure. All for different reasons.
Best book from my childhood: The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton - I kept wishing for a faraway tree of my own!  Elynne Mitchell's Silver Brumby series (I loved the pure Australian-ness of it all).
Book of the Moment: The Better Part of Darkness by Kelly Gay
When no-one's watching I like to:  bludge (that's "do absolutely nothing" for all you non-Aussies!)
Best band ever: A tie between Rascal Flatts and Sister Hazel.  I adore those guys.
Songs I never want to hear again: Venus by Bananarama.  Loveshack or Rock Lobster by the B52s.  (well, anything by the B52s, really).
My biggest adventure: backpacking across Europe.
If I wasn't a writer I would be: what???   Okay, an interior designer.  Or maybe a travel agent.  Or a book store owner would be great!
